This summer, a series of videos were released by an anti-abortion group in California in the United States, triggering a non-trivial dispute over the scientific work of aborted fetal body tissues. Conflicts that scientifically study the body tissue that American researchers use aborted fetuses are escalating. Recently a law was introduced by Wisconsin lawmakers in the United States, whose scientists may be felonious if they use research conducted on body tissues or cells from recently aborted fetuses. This measure, approved by a Wisconsin state legislature, has aroused opposition from universities and research groups who think it will stifle important disease research processes. Scientific policy observers have predicted that the bill may be just the beginning of many similar national-level efforts.
