Almost a month has passed since the United States, the European Union and Japan filed a WTO trade lawsuit against China. The progress that can be read during this period was that relevant officials from Ministry of Commerce and MIIT denied that China is restricting the export of rare earths. At the same time, many domestic media pointed out that since the onset of the international financial crisis, China has been the number one target country and the biggest victim of trade frictions. Data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that in 2010, China suffered 66 trade relief investigations of all kinds, involving an amount of up to 7.7 billion U.S. dollars.
