硅酸铝耐火纤维是一种新型的耐火保温材料。国外在七十年代就广泛应用起来。我国是在七十年代末才引起重视,开始在热处理设备上推广使用。硅酸铝耐火纤维材料具有良好的耐高温性能,可在1000℃条件下长时使用;它的比热小;它在500~1200℃条件下的导热系数为0.1~0.22千卡/小时·℃·米,为一般轻质耐火材料的1/3;它还具有容重小(为轻质耐火材料的1/5~1/(15))等特点。在热处理加热设备上使用该材料可以大大减小热损失,
