The World Family Doctors Organization (WONCA) is the accepted abbreviation for the “World Doctor of the National Institute of General Practitioners/Family Doctors and Institutes”. At the 5th World Congress held in Melbourne in 1972, WONCA officially announced its establishment. Now its members have more than 55 organizations from 45 countries. Only national colleges, societies or organizations concerned with family medical academics can become official
