杨萱庭从事书法艺术的研究和创作已有60余年,现为中央文史研究馆馆员,曾在国内和日本举办过个展,作品深得海内外同胞和国际友人所喜爱.不久前出版的《杨萱庭书法集》,由启功题签、萧劳作序.萧劳在序言中写道:杨先生“师古而不泥古,晚年更追求变法与创新”.“他治学严谨,涉猎广泛,致广大,尽精微,不仅字形巨细并陈,而且诸体咸备——由楷、行而草、隶,而小篆,上溯钟鼎、甲骨,旁及诏版、权量、瓦当、玺印,探微撷英、博采精深.”杨先生既善于用巨笔写巨字,还精于蝇头小楷;双管齐挥,也是他的一大特点.
