一、试验目的我省属中亚热带温暖湿润气候,适宜甘蔗栽培。但气温最高的赣南地区,1月份平均气温仍然只有6.2~8.5℃,每年在此前后均有低温侵袭,极端最低温在摄氏零下4.1~9.8度,致使甘蔗地上部份不能安全越冬。受冻甘蔗产量减少,糖分转化加剧,晚熟品种无法成熟,因而多在立冬后至大寒边制糖,压榨期前后约80天左右。七十年代开始换栽比较耐寒的赣蔗1号、8号和纳印310等品种后,榨期略可延长,但迟至3月份以后产量和含糖量都有很大影响。而且因为现有当家种均属中熟类型,即使较早熟的秋植蔗、宿根蔗也要在12月中旬才逐渐成熟,提早压榨糖分含量都不够高。
