A new corymbulin pterybinthinone has been isolated from the roots of P.terebinthina var. Terebinthina (Hook.) Coult. & Rose and the coumarin components pteryxin, umbelliferone and sucrose are known. It has been reported that pteryxin has a moderate toxin effect and that in vitro tests have the effect of relaxing the uterus, dilating blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and slowing the frequency of cardiac contractions. In addition, it inhibits intestinal convulsions in mice and rabbits induced by acetylcholine, barium chloride and serotonin. This article studies pteryxin and P.terebinthina extracts
