该钻头适宜加工球墨铸铁,并能钻削可锻铸铁及布氏硬度HB350~400、表面有硬皮、黑皮和氧化层的较硬铸铁。我厂在加工产品Φ1500×5700球磨机隔板盘时,有Φ34-50圆周等分孔,材料为球墨铸铁、牌号QT45-50,强度高、塑性大,耐磨性高。原用标准麻花钻加工,钻削时负荷重、轴向抗力大,时常发出刺耳的声音,钻头耐用度低、主切削刃很快磨损、甚至崩刃,且加工速度慢、工效低,不适宜作批量生产。用铸铁群钻加工,由于未修磨主切削刃前面和外刃双后角,以致在钻削过程中,钻头切削部分常产生黑皮现象并容易导致切削刃磨损,仍达不到理想的切削效果。后改变钻头切削参数,刃磨成专门加工球墨铸铁
