随着以太网及令牌环网络在国际市场上的销量不断扩大,各生产厂商在市场上展开了激列的竞争,不断开发和生产出速度更快、性能更佳、价格更廉的网络产品。美国PC WEEK实验室和ZD实验室1994年对世界上流行的网卡进行了综合评测,最近,PC WEEK杂志公布了排名前10位的厂家、产品及其性能、价格。PC WEEK实验室和ZD实验室的评测范围包括以太网络及令牌环网络产品,其中有ISA总线和EISA总线的网卡。ISA总线网卡在终端上进行测试EISA总线网卡在眼务器上进行测试。ZD实验室对网卡的性能测试是采用Compaq计算机公司生产的32MB RAM×L486/50,运行的网络软件是Novell NetWare 3.12,使用Netbench 2.1来传送数据块进行传送测试,传送数据块包括:64B、128B、256B、512B、1024B、2048B和4096B。
