Preface Process mineralogy is an important branch of mineralogy and belongs to the discipline of applied mineralogy. With the increasing number of easy-selected easy-to-use ores, the composition is more and more complicated, and the use of fine-grained refractory ores is increasingly important in the national economy. Accurate determination and in-depth study of the physical and chemical properties of various minerals in the ore, the physical-chemical state of the mineral surface, etc., are the basis for determining the rational processing of these ores. The physical-chemical properties of minerals are the external manifestations of the microscopic factors such as chemical composition, crystal structure, microstructure symmetry, crystal chemistry, crystal defects, bonding properties of microscopic particles and bond strength. Therefore, the accurate determination of various physical-chemical properties of minerals is the basic condition of in-depth study of process mineralogy. With the continuous development of science and technology, advanced testing instruments for testing and studying various properties of minerals have been asked in succession, and Shih-Tung Mineralogy and Process Mineralogy have entered a new phase. However, it should be pointed out in particular here that microscopic research is the most important and basic research method, and other in-depth studies must be based on this. This article mainly introduces the application of spectrophotometer, microhardness tester, infrared absorption spectrometer, Mossbauer spectroscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy and image analyzer in the study of mineralogy and process mineralogy
