【Objective】 To investigate the relationship between sleep structural changes and abnormal cognitive behavior in children with Tourette syndrome (TS). 【Methods】 Fifty-two children with TS underwent night-time monitoring of polysomnography, Ravin test and ablation test to evaluate their cognitive ability and attention to evaluate their cognitive ability and Achen-bach scale to evaluate their behavioral status. Rank correlation coefficient The relationship between sleep and attention and behavior was analyzed and compared with 40 normal children (as a normal control group). 【Results】 Compared with the control group, the sleep efficiency (SE) and the percentage of slow wave sleep in TS group were longer than those in control group. The sleep latency (ST) was prolonged. The percentage of sleep in NREM Ⅰ was higher than that in control group, In TS group, the parameters of attentional examination were significantly higher than those in control group. The scores of CBCL score and introvertion score in TS group were higher than those in control group. The total attention deficit score was positively correlated with NREMⅠ (r = 0.72, P <0.01). The total score of behavioral problems was positively correlated with the percentage of REM (r = 0.59, P <0.05). [Conclusion] The sleep structure in children with TS is abnormal, which is related to children ’s cognitive and behavioral abnormalities.
