罗源湾位于福建省东北沿海,距福州市108公里,系东海之滨一个著名的内湾,为福建六大深水港湾之一,有十多个岛屿。内湾宽约6公里,外湾宽约15公里,湾长约20公里,其出口处,跨越毗邻的连江县沿海。罗源湾为罗源县的主要经济命脉,海产资源丰富,湾内产有天然名贵鱼类十多种,如石斑鱼、黄鲷、黑鲷、黄爪鱼、花鲈、(鱼田)鱼、淡水鳗鱼等。天然蟹类品种繁多。贝壳类有著名省内的罗源蛎、(虫呈)、蛤等。
