无论从语源还是语境上说,把《文心雕龙·原道》篇起首二句中的“与天地并生者”理解为“人”都较“文”更加合理。由此可以看出,刘勰通过赞颂人在天地间的地位和价值,来确定人所创造的“文”的意义和功能,认为“文”即语言美,是“言”与“心”在“道”的基础上的统一。这种对主体精神的弘扬是统贯《文心雕龙》的核心观念,它源自传统并超越传统,依附时代也领先时代,可谓找到了语言美的正确根源。
