1993年,九年义务教育三年制初级中学语文教科书开始试用新教材。新教参中指出:“过去教科书只有一本,凡是编入教科书的都要教给学生。有所遗漏,教师就会认为没有尽到责任。这几乎成了多年的通例,成了理所当然的固定观念。在教学中要改变这一观念,课文内容的安排有许多层次,不要全部由教师教给学生,相当一部分由学生自学。”这就为语文教师提出了新的课题,除了完成正常的教学任务之外,还要摸索如何指导学生自学,怎样才能有所收益,不要高分低能,而要高分高能。
