党的十五大报告指出:“扩大基层民主,保证人民群众直接行使民主权利,依法管理自己的事情,创造自己的幸福生活,是社会主义民主最广泛的实践。”村民自治作为当代有中国特色社会主义的民主政治建设的一种新的实践,日益受到国际社会和国内社会各界的关注。为了进一步了解当前农村的村民自治状况,摸清农民的愿望和要求,前不久,我们对随州市的百名人大代表和十个村的村民进行了调查。现将调查情况综合分析如下。一、村民自治的时代意义1.坚持和完善村民自治是巩固和发展农村改革成果的迫切需要
