红军东征纪念馆位于吕梁市石楼县东城乡故乡村。1935年10月,中央红军完成了艰苦卓绝的战略转移任务到达陕北。但陕甘苏区面积狭小,人口稀少,经济相对落后,红军给养困难,扩军很不容易。同年12月,中共中央瓦窑堡会议后,红军按照“抗日反蒋,渡河东征”的战略方针和战略行动的具体部署,开始了东征的准备工作。
The Red Army Memorial Hall is located in the hometown of Dongcheng Township, Shilou County, Luliang City. In October 1935, the Central Red Army completed an arduous task of strategic transfer to reach northern Shaanxi. However, the Gansu-Ssu River Region was small in size and sparsely populated with a relatively backward economy. The Red Army was having difficulty in providing support and the military expansion was not easy. In December the same year, following the Wayaobao Conference of the CPC Central Committee, the Red Army began the preparatory work for the Eastern Expedition in accordance with the concrete deployment of the strategic principle and strategic action of “fighting against Japan and opposing Chiang Kai-shek and crossing the river eastwards.”
