Zhao Baoxu, a professor at Peking University, wrote in the first issue of “Democracy” in 1990 that it should be completely denied to the Cultural Revolution, but history can not be severed. Therefore, earnestly studying this period of “Cultural Revolution” and answering many scientific and practical questions raised in the “Cultural Revolution” scientifically is a top priority: First, it is a topic of extremely high political sensitivity. Will the study of the “Cultural Revolution” lead to a renewed imbalance of mentality? Will it make people feel nostalgia and resentment and affect today’s stability and unity? Will it induce young people’s “rebel” sentiments?
