As early as the first World War I, many military strategists began to discuss the possibility of using parachute airdrops to be employed in combat operations. In 1916, the German army dropped a parachute to an army officer and dropped an air force to the rear of the Russian army to destroy the railway. As a result, the Russian military was interrupted by front-line transportation and logistics support and effectively coordinated with the regular forces. From then on, the parachute “bloomed” on the battlefield. In subsequent operations, the United Kingdom, France, Russia and other countries repeatedly used parachute dropping their troops to the enemy line and made major victories. All countries were competing to develop military parachutes.
