Acoustic emission is generally attributed to the · OH radical recombination, and these free radicals in the cavitation bubble collapse under high temperature and pressure generated. Ultrasound devices are known to generate large amounts of free radicals in water and biological fluids and may therefore be health hazardous when used. In this paper, we study the luminescence phenomena of standing waves of different frequencies in the frequency range from 2 kHz to 1 MHz experimentally and find that the observed steady-state light emission is generated in the violently pulsating cavitation field of the bubbles rather than in the collapse of the cavity . In many cases, multiple flashes occur per acoustic cycle, and always maintain a certain level of drive sound pressure
