江苏常熟市支塘镇处在上海经济区、长江黄金口岸之中,受上海、苏州、无锡、南通等大中城市的经济辐射,204国道穿镇而过,是常熟市的东大门。全镇总面积为45.36平方公里,下辖20个行政村和4个居民委员会,总人口为30950人。1986年被省政府批准为首批对外开放的工业卫生镇,1994年和1995年分别被省政府和建设部确定为新型小城镇建设试点镇,同年,经省综合环境卫生检查验收,达到了省级卫生镇要求。自党的十一属三中全会以来,支塘镇集镇建设和社会各项事业都得到了飞速发展。1995年,实现工农业总产值13.8亿元,利税总额7057万元,人均年收入3802元。 近年来,我镇紧紧抓住经济稳步发展的机遇,把搞好小城镇建设作为发展经济的首要任务,加大资金投
