Western youth culture, as a special age group for young people, has unique social values and group lifestyles. It is an important cultural component of contemporary Western social structure. At the level of modernization theory, it is an inevitable appendage of the western industrial civilization from the period of development to maturity. The full pragmatism of society and the disillusionment of social rationalism, which had been the result of the development of Western society, accompanied by a high degree of material civilization, laid the foundation for a culture of youth whose external qualities were hedonism.
