雅安地区水力资源十分丰富。地方电力是一个完整的发、供、用电力系统，又是全国第一批县实现农村初级电气化的地区。要促进地方经济建设的发展，提高人民的生活质量，尽快实现农村电气化，达到小康地区水平。就要利用股份制企业的优势，从“三改一严”入手，建立现代企业制度。不断地开发水电资源、扩大地区电网110kV网架结构、提高电力调度通信及自动化水平。在该地区雅安电力股份有限公司既是地方电力系统的重要组成部分，同时又承担着电源、电网建设和调度通信及自动化建设的主要任务。
