At present, in highway engineering practice, the economic benefits of placing the bridge structure into a skewed bridge are more obvious due to the skewed routes and river courses or other routes. Skew bridges in small and medium-sized spans generally use more solid plates or hollow plates, there are two overall and articulated system. When the span of more than 20 meters, the general structure is no longer replaced by the slab beam structure, the cross-section made of T-beam, split box beam or spine beam. This paper introduces the development of skewed bridges in various countries of the world, the characteristics of force, practical calculation methods and examples, the system structure and the method of reinforcement, and finally gives a brief review of the current development in our country.
