中共十六大的召开,吹响了向“全面建设小康社会”进军的号角;今年“两会”的召开,又将描绘下一个五年发展的宏伟蓝图。在我国国民经济取得持续稳定发展的同时,科学研究事业近年来也在许多领域取得令人瞩目的发展,有些进展甚至是带有突破性的。如笔者熟悉的化学研究领域,以往我国的科学研究成果每年能在国际一流的化学刊物(《美国化学会会志》、德国《应用化学》)上发表的屈指可数。近几年,只要翻开这些刊物,几乎期期都有我国科学工作者的论文,其中许多完全是在国内完成的,有的研究组一年能发表好几篇。在《自然》、《科学》等顶级刊物上

While the national economy in our country has achieved sustained and steady development, the cause of scientific research has made remarkable achievements in many fields in recent years. Some progress has even been groundbreaking. As I am familiar with the field of chemical research, in the past, the scientific research achievements of our country can be published in world-class chemical journals (“Journal of the American Chemical Society” and “Applied Chemistry in Germany”) every year. In recent years, as long as these publications are opened, most of the papers of our scientists are made in the near term, many of them completely completed domestically.
