一、广西是中国长寿第一大省(区)在中国的古代哲学中,一般认为“百”是表示圆满、吉庆的数字,用于表达美好的意思,如“百年好合”“百步穿杨”“百发百中”“百分之百”等,加上具体的生命生存状况,所以,以“百岁”作为长寿之界定,是最合理的,而联合国也沿用了这个标准。每10万人中拥有百岁老人7.5人,是评定以县为区域的“长寿之乡”最基本的硬指标。截至2014年8月底,由国家老年学学会评定的“长寿之乡”有52个,而广西壮族自治区是“长寿之乡”最多的省(区),有18个之多,约占35%,远远超过其他省、市、自治区,是中国的长寿大省(区),这18个“长寿之乡”是:巴马瑶族自治县、昭平县、岑溪市、东兴市、蒙山县、容县、永福县、东兰县、凤山县、凌云县、扶绥县、上林县、金秀瑶族自治县、阳朔县、马山县、天等县、大新县、恭城瑶族自治县。巴马是世界五大“长寿之乡”之一,每10万人口中百岁老人31.8
