面对现阶段高职高专学生英语整体水平不高的现状,要使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和基本技能,提高学生在实际工作中应用英语的能力,提高高职高专学生学习英语的兴趣并保持下去,成为促进英语教学的重要手段。首先,上好学生进校的第一次课,让好奇心转变成兴趣。第二,因材施教,课前了解学生水平差异,重视学生基础知识的学习,采用分层次教学而不是分班教学的方法。因为保护学生的自尊心在教学活动中非常重要,应该付出更多努力,对不同水平的学生进行分别指导,在尽量短的时间尽量的缩小学生之间的差距。第三,使用多种教学方法和教学手段,为课堂教学创造良好的氛围,使学生轻松愉快的学习。第四,加强和学生的情感交流,用教师的个人魅力吸引学生学习英语。第五,为学生提供方便的自学条件。第六,对学生的学习进行鼓励教育,让学生体验成功,从而巩固学习的兴趣。
