1993年12月17日,武汉市成人教育协会召开常务理事会,与会者有名誉会长李春鉴,顾问杨国屏、葛俞、彭友进及常务理事40余人。会议由李珠会长主持,副会长赵次楠汇报工作。大家经过讨论,一致认为,在向社会主义市场经济转换的过程中,成人教育协会面临新矛盾和新挑战,当前要认真学习党的十四届三中全会决定、《邓小平文选》第三卷和《中国教育改革和发展纲要》,进一步解放思想,更新观念,转变协会职能,加强理论研究,为企业经济发展服务。协会创办实体,恰是改变官办色彩,实现“自治、自立、自养”的可行途径,亦应积极探索,逐步完善。
On December 17, 1993, the Wuhan Adult Education Association held an executive council. Honorary president Li Chunjian, consultants Yang Guoping, Ge Yu, Peng Youjin and executive directors attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Li Zhu, vice president Zhao Chen reported work. After discussion, all agreed that during the transition to a socialist market economy, the Adult Education Association is facing new contradictions and new challenges. At present, it is imperative to earnestly study the decisions made by the Third Plenary Session of the 14th CPC Central Committee and the third volume of the Selected Works of Deng Xiaoping “Outline of China’s Educational Reform and Development”, further emancipate the mind, update concepts, change the functions of the association, strengthen theoretical research, and serve the economic development of the enterprise. The establishment of an entity by the Association is just a viable way to change the colors of government-run offices and realize “self-government, self-reliance and self-support.” It should also actively explore and gradually improve.
