书名一语双关:“五斗米折腰”是大多数上班族的无奈,“靠腰”又是闽南方言,表达一种抱怨的语气,甚至是咒骂的宣泄。书中主角是一个戴着锁链领带上班的职场小人物马克,而他的身边,是牙齿上滴着员工鲜血的老板,高高在上的客户以及头顶天线方便接收老板指示的主管。这些搞怪而又富有创意的办公室题材漫画形象,配合“家在公司隔壁但是我回不去”、“客户是神所以客户不是人”等经典语句,让上班族都感同身受心有戚戚焉。
