Ding Kiln originated from and prospered in Quyang County of northern China’s Hebei province. As Quyang was under the jurisdiction of Dingzhou in ancient times, kiln sites in this area are called “Ding Kiln”. Ding Kiln porcelain began to be manufactured in the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) and the area became a major kiln center in the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127).
