敖汉旗位于赤峰市东南部。自2005年3月1日起,全旗新型农村合作医疗制度正式启动运行以来,参合率逐年上升,2007年共有469291人参合,户籍人口参合率为90.16%,常住人口参合率为99.27%。新型农村牧区合作医疗制度是一项新生事物,农民群众需要一个认识和接受的过程,为使这项制度发挥其应有的优越性,在新型合作医疗试点工作中,敖汉旗主要从以下几个方面做好此项工作:
