Objective To prospectively assess the effect of the number of uterine fibroids on the obstetric outcome of twin pregnancies. METHODS: Totally 51 patients with twin uterine fibroids were enrolled in Beijing Maternity Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University and delivered between June 2013 and December 2014. 32 of them (the number of fibroids = 1) were single In the group of fibroids, 19 (fibroids≥2) were multiple myoma group. The basic characteristics of myoma, the basic demographic characteristics of pregnant women, poor obstetric complications and neonatal outcomes were observed and recorded. Results Compared with those with single myoma in pregnancy, there were no significant differences in the basic demographic characteristics, adverse gynecological complications and neonatal outcomes between pregnant women with multiple myxomas and pregnancy (P> 0.05). Conclusion The number of uterine fibroids has no obvious effect on the obstetric outcomes of twin pregnancies, which is conducive to the monitoring and management of prenatal, postpartum and postpartum mothers with twin uterine fibroids.
