我国北方玉米种子生产促早熟技术直接影响种子活力、种子产量和种子质量，特别是使种子冻前降至安全含水量，是种子生产成败的关键。本文着重报道，如何在种子生产全过程中采取综合促早熟措施，把适区种植的宏观决策，与促早熟新技术，常规技术，辅助性技术、特异性技术结合在一起，综合运用。以提高玉米种子的产量和质量。
