In the history of world economic development, chain operations have been multiplying and playing a pivotal role. For example, in Japan during the three years from 1992 to 1994, the number of traditional retail stores decreased by 1.8% (29,000), while the chain stores erode the self-operated market by 24.5% (395,000). Another example is that in the United States, there are more than 7.2 million employees engaged in the chain industry in 60 different industries. Even in the economic downturn in 1992, the chain still stood out and 18,500 franchise stores opened.
