貴池县烏沙区三万公社万生大队上荷生产队,是个地势較低的圩区。历年以种植水稻为主,由于长期栽培和多年摸索,該队在水稻育秧方面取得了一些成功經驗。自1955年推廣双季稻以来,連續八年不烂秧,特別是1963年,在育秧期間因气侯多变和阴雨連绵,我县各地早、中稻都有不同程度的烂秧,如北圩生产队播种五点五亩中稻秧,其中有一点一亩烂掉80%,四点四亩烂掉10%以上;但邻近的上荷生产队,二点五亩早稻秧、二点九亩中稻秧,全部没有烂秧。他們的主要經驗是:
