When U.S. Secretary of State Powell was an infantry platoon leader in his youth, he was ordered to perform tasks in Frankfurt, Germany. At that time, their most valuable weapon was a 280-mm cannon. They often use trucks to tow the cannon in the woods and turn around in order to prevent the Soviet army to find the exact position. One day, Capt. Tom Miller ordered Powell’s row to defend a cannon. Powell loaded his pistol into a bullet, and then got on the jeep, leading the whole row out. Did not go far, he found his pistol gone.
