“劳驾给个情节吧” 据说果戈里在写《钦差大臣》时有段佳话:二十六岁的果戈里想写个喜剧,在思考题材时,曾给普希金写了封信:“劳驾给个情节吧”,“只要是纯粹俄罗斯的笑话就行”。普希金便跟他讲了一个亲身经历过的趣事:有一次,普希金为了写俄国农民起义的领袖普加乔夫,到奥伦堡去搜集材料,人们把他当成了彼得堡派来私访的钦差大臣。果戈里听后大受启发,联系自己所了解的沙俄官场的种种丑闻,不到两个月的时间,便写成了举世闻名的五幕讽刺喜剧《钦差大臣》。
