新泉整训是我党建军史上具有重大意义的一次民主整军运动,是中国工农红军第一次正规的政治、军事整训。毛泽东在整训期间起草的红四军党的第九次代表大会决议草案(古田会议决议),作为我军建军史上具有奠基性质的纲领性文件,将我军与一切旧军队区分开来,使我军真正成为一支人民的军队,为我军的创建发展做出了巨大贡献,对我军后勤建设也具有深远影响。决议中包含的巩固革命战争战略后方、实行军事经济民主、资源有序分配、依靠人民支援、严格后勤纪律等思想成为我军建设人民军队的重要思想基础,在长期的革命实践中散发出耀眼的光芒,是我军发展史上的宝贵财富。
