海珠区地处广州市南部,是珠江环抱的一个绿岛,被誉为“海上明珠”。全区面积90.45平方公里,下辖14条行政街和一个新滘镇,常住人口73.5万人。海珠区地理环境优越,水陆交通便捷,现有11座跨江大桥与本区相连,是通向珠江三角洲及深圳、珠海经济特区的交通要道。区内有通航港澳和国内沿海城市的客、货轮码头及仓贮作业区。广州市环城高速公路、市内环路和华南大道横贯本区,与广深珠高速公路相接;拟建的广州地下铁路2号线将通达本区繁华的地段,设有多个站口出入。本区东部菜田溢翠,佳果满园;西部商贸兴旺,繁华壮观;南部综合市场、楼宇鳞次栉比;北部襟江带河,碧浪清波。
Located in the southern part of Guangzhou City, Haizhu District is a green island surrounded by the Pearl River, hailed as “Pearl of the Sea”.
