1986年沈阳市积极推广了玉米药剂灭草免中耕、精少量播种、水稻盘育苗机插秧、水田旋耕、机械收割和节油等6项新技术。去年沈阳市玉米药剂灭草免中耕10.7万亩,推广机动打药机117台,改变了传统的中耕三铲三趟,为不铲不趟。每亩地节省费用8元,全市共节省85.6万元。玉米每亩地还增产30—40公斤。精少量播种118万亩,每亩地节省种子1.5公斤,共节省种子1,770吨,折合人民币
