HP、IBM 及Seagate 发布了 LTO(LinearTape-Open)技术。此技术是一个开放式的磁带结构,能使新一代磁带存储产品在维持最高水平的数据完整性的同时,超越现有磁带的容量及性能。目前此项技术可供磁带驱动器及磁带生产商申请的许可证共有两种,分别为 Ultrium 及 Accelis.Ultrium 为高容量格式,在2∶1的压缩模式下之容量可达200GB(基本容量为100GB);Accelistm 则为快速存取格式,数据搜寻速度最高可达9.6秒。
HP, IBM and Seagate have released LTO (LinearTape-Open) technology. This technology is an open tape architecture that enables next-generation tape storage products to exceed the capacity and performance of existing tapes while maintaining the highest levels of data integrity. At present, there are two kinds of licenses that the technology can apply for tape drive and tape manufacturers, Ultrium and Accelis, respectively.Ultrium is a high-capacity format and has a capacity of 200GB in a 2: 1 compression mode (basic capacity is 100GB ); Accelistm is fast access format, data search speed up to 9.6 seconds.
