Getting High-Income Jobs As many of the larger companies have moved factories to Mexico, as the Atlantic Monthly says, Micro Pulse is one of those corners of the “rust zone” where U.S. manufacturing continues to grow. In a humble building in Columbia, Indiana, Bryan Emory, CEO of Micro Pulse, an orthopedic medical device company, employs 306 workers to produce multi-million-dollar medical devices such as orthopedic implants and surgical tools. He started his career in the industry five years ago, with annual sales of $ 40 million. According to Emory, he chose Indiana rather than overseas because the equipment design often required many communications with engineers, and time lags and language barriers were a challenge.
