Preface It is well-known that the number of pixels in a digital camera has a great influence on its image quality. There are various methods for improving the quality of a digital camera. Pixel shifting and pixel interpolation (smoothing) are one of the methods. Using these methods, high-quality images can still be obtained as a digital camera, even though the imaging devices such as CCDs nowadays have relatively few pixels. Due to the camera and monitor and printer with significant
