In the Papua New Guinea Plateau, the cultivation of arborvitae has been around for centuries, thus creating a culture that adapts to the local climate and the needs of the people. In the plateau, the western edge of the genus Verbena ranks second in the most important food crops, behind the sweet potato. Cultivation in the eastern plateau is also very common. Bean is different from other important crops, mainly in the dry season (June-November) planting. The local farmers generally think that there are two main types of four-legged beans, namely, short pods and long pods. In the dry season of 1975, a survey was conducted on the cultivation of Fagopyrum, which is the report of this survey.
