Herbal medicine is used more and more in the treatment of diseases. Although the safety and quality of herbs are guaranteed under a series of policies, there is less evidence for the curative effect of herbs. Approximately one-quarter of adults in the United Kingdom use herbs and herbs that have a market share of at least 485 million pounds and are strongly supported by Prince Charles. In a recently released “Black Spider” letter he wrote to Prime Minister Tony Blair in 2005, the prince urged for a delay in implementing the EU’s restrictions on herbs: “I think both of us think this measure is a fuss.” However, the general public is more concerned with the safety and standardization of herbal medicines and the interaction between herbal medicines and other medicines.
