The main line of “Sebastian Knightnet’s Real Life” is a seemingly illusory pursuit. Novelist V, who claims to be Sebastian’s half-brother, has written an accurate and reliable biography of his brother and has strenuously visited his Cambridge associates, work assistants and former girlfriends. Unfortunately, most of the materials he received were second-hand materials or bioprocessing materials that were reported by others. Even the narrator V’s own identity became more and more obscure and doubtful. The novel takes “real ” as the title, and there is no evidence of “real ” in the whole novel. This free, non-central and multiple meanings text is exactly the characteristic of postmodernism.
