当代体育集强身健体、文化娱乐乃至宣传广告商业竞争为一体,为人们喜闻乐见。街头巷尾,男女老少。或挥汗如雨,或闲庭胜步。不难看出,随着社会的进步和物质文化生活的飞速发展,人们在坚持多项体育锻炼的同时,开始注意自己的心理健康。1989年国际卫生组织将健康定义重新论定为:心理健康、身体健康、道德健康和社会适应良好。因此,就健康本身的内涵来看,维持心理卫生、保持心理健康,就与体育锻炼、身体健康存在着千丝万缕的联系,其中现代心理治疗的重要手段之一便是参加体育锻炼。通过积极参与体育运动,唤醒心理疾病患者沉睡的健康意识,以达到调适心理活动、维护健康水平的目的。
