In 2000, “Fortune” list of the top 500, the oil company comeback, ExxonMobil to 210 billion US dollars in operating income ranks first in the Fortune 500 than the second and third place in Wal-Mart Stores Companies and General Motors, respectively, higher than 17 billion and 26 billion US dollars. Oil, gas and power companies have risen their position in the 500 annual ranking due to falling supplies, lifting public utilities, soaring gas prices and OPEC’s surge in revenue to limit production to keep oil prices high. In addition to ExxonMobil, Ellen Petroleum also ranks among the world’s top 10, ranked No. 7. Duke Energy Company rose from 69th place in the previous year to 17th place of the year; Reynth Energy Company rose from 114 places in the previous year to 50th place in 2000.
