博客既是博主的网络私人日记,又是博主与他人进行交往的平台。博客传播就是博主进行自我呈现的过程。其中,自我表露是博客传播中自我呈现的基本方式,自我隐瞒是保护性方式。同一位博主在不同信息上的自我表露和自我隐瞒水平存在差异,不同博主间的自我表露和自我隐瞒水平因为性别、拥有博客的时间、博客更新的频率而存在差异,而且自我表露和自我隐瞒之间不是简单的此消彼长关系。
