Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, China’s machinery industry has developed rapidly, especially after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. It has entered the best period of development in history and has made remarkable achievements in production, technology, and foreign trade. During the fifteen years from 1978 to 1992, the output value of the machinery industry grew at an average annual rate of 13.3%, which was 2.5 percentage points higher than the average national industrial development rate of 10.8% during the same period, becoming the fastest industrial development in China.
