As the economic and trade activities between China and Russia are heating up, as the intermediate node of the Suman-Europe Railway, the number of wagons in and out of the Manzhouli, the largest railway port in China, is now increasing to nearly 1,000 every day. The port is increasingly busy. The Manzhouli Customs District is located at the forefront of the country’s opening to the north and is an important bridgehead connecting Russia, Mongolia, and China. The Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC Central Committee put forward the idea of “opening up and promoting reforms” to build an open economic system, and determined to expand the opening of inland borders as one of the key tasks for comprehensively deepening reforms.
